MUMBAI: CM Eknath Shinde on Wednesday issued orders to check the potential of the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) area available at Bandra East government colony and submit a detailed redevelopment plan.
Shinde added that after studying the site of the SRA in the government colony, its capacity and all technical aspects, including the funnel zone, a decision on redevelopment will be taken.
The colony stands on 90 acre government plot and houses 4,782 flats for first- to fourth-class officers and employees.
"As many as 169 buildings have been tagged 'dangerous', 68 'super-dangerous', and 101 buildings will be vacated and service accommodation will be given to the employees through lottery. Work on four of the 12 under-construction buildings has been completed. One of the 12 buildings will be given to Savitribai Phule Government Hostel," an official said.
Around 30 acres of land will be earmarked for the new Bombay High Court complex.
