NAVI MUMBAI: As the special planning authority for new townships in Navi Mumbai, Cidco has announced its declaration of intention to prepare a comprehensive development plan of Khopta New Town Notified area. The state government appointed Cidco as the special planning authority for the Khopta New Town Notified area. The new township involves 32 revenue villages encompassing Panvel and Uran talukas. This area includes 7 villages from Panvel tehsil of the Raigad district and 25 villages from the Uran tehsil. The area will be developed with state-of-the-art infrastructure and social facilities. “This will set into motion the process of planned and systematic development of the proposed Khopta New Town,” said Cidco vice-chairman and managing director, Dr Sanjay Mukherjee. Cidco had published its development plan for six villages, including Barpada, Karnala (Tara), Dolghar, Kasarbhat and Dighati, and the state approved the development plans according to the Development Control Regulations in 2012 for these villages.
